At Globalvia we finally celebrate the closing of the purchase from Brookfield of the 34% stake in the assets of Autopista Vespucio Norte and Túnel de San Cristóbal, located in Santiago de Chile.
In this way, we ratify the agreement reached in September this year. After the initial agreement, the approvals of the financial entities had to be given for the shareholding change to take place. After these two months in which we have carried out all the required steps, we can announce that we are the new shareholders of these two Chilean assets.
This operation is part of our long-term and international growth strategy, driven by our shareholders, the OPTrust (Canada), PGGM (Netherlands) and USS (UK) pension funds.
With this acquisition we add to our portfolio two assets that, together with the three that we currently have in Chile (Autopista del Itata, Autopista del Aconcagua and Autopista Costa Arauco), add up more than 430 kilometers of concession in the country.
Vespucio Norte has 17 free flow gantries along its 29 kilometers that serve eight communes in the capital, becoming a key artery for daily transportation in the Chilean capital. This highway connects through the 1.8-kilometer Túnel de San Cristóbal with Providencia, Vitacura, Las Condes, Santiago Centro and Ñuñoa.
After this acquisition, we consolidate our international presence in the concessions market, adding a total of 29 concessions in 7 countries, while at the same time reinforcing our leadership in Chile.
