On Saturday November 11, Autovía Santiago Lampa has been opened up to traffic with the 85% of the project completed and 5 months ahead of schedule.
This milestone means the change of the north access to Santiago de Chile to an urban standard raising the service levels of the first 15 kilometers of the Autopista del Aconcagua, from the Enlace Quilicura until the toll booth of Lampa.
This opening includes the entire road, an important section of service roads, cycle paths and walkways. This project brings great benefits for users: decrease the times of transfers, improve the urban connectivity, contribute to decongest the city and, above all, improve the quality of life of the people who live around the road, with better and greater connection throughout the highway.
The inauguration celebration of Autovía Santiago Lampa Highway was held in the new concessionaire building, which was used for the first time for the occasion and is located at the Lampa toll booth. The meeting was leaded by Jorge Rivas, Country Manager of Globalvia Chile, Eduardo Escala, Chairman of the Globalvia Chile Board, Eduardo Abedrapo, MOP Concessions Coordinator and Rodrigo Richmagui, MOP Tax Inspector.
