For another year, Globalvia is supporting the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact with respect four basic pilars: Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
In April 2012 Globalvia joined UN Global Compact and for the last five years the Company has consistently honored the Ten Principles in the performance of its business.
¿What is UN Global Compact?
The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to align operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of Human rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-corruption.
By doing so, business, as a primary driver of globalization, can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere.
In September 2015, all 193 Member States of the United Nations adopted a plan for achieving a better future for all – laying out a path over the next 15 years to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect our planet. At the heart of “Agenda 2030” are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which clearly define the world we want – applying to all nations and leaving no one behind.
The new global goals result from a process that has been more inclusive than ever, with Governments involving business, civil society and citizens from the outset. We are all in agreement on where the world needs to go. Fulfilling these ambitions will take an unprecedented effort by all sectors in society – and business has to play a very important role in the process.
The “2017 Communication On Progress” Report of Globalvia, which comprises all CSR actions of the Group developed in the last year, has been submitted on the official website of UN Global Compact and it is also available in the CSR section of the website of Globalvia.
