Metro de Sevilla promotes multimodal mobility of its users, counting since April 8, with the installation of an eleven-sapce parking lot for electric sooters inside Cavaleri station.
The Seville subway thus becomes the first railway operation in Spain to have a parking for scooters, which also includes a free electric recharging system for users.
It is an own design pilot project, which could be extended to other metro stations depending on the reception that this initiative has. This arises as a response to the new trends in urban mobility since more and more citizens are opting for alternative and sustainable means of transport.
Metro de Sevilla adapts to this trend and the demands of its passengers through the new parking lot for scooters, thus adding to the existing bicycle racks in eleven of its stations, reaching a total of 204 spaces.
The inauguration ceremony of the new parking lot was attended by Marifrán Carazo, Minister of Development, Infrastructure and Planning of the Territory of Andalusia, on her words, through this initiative Metro de Sevilla “opens up the opportunity to boost the combination of these two new unipersonal and sustainable transport modes with a public transport system like metro”.
Through the setting up of this project, Metro de Sevilla promotes intermodality and sustainable mobility, while at the same time it offers innovative solutions that bring value to the services offered to its users.
