The last January 20, several Spanish Toll Concessionaires Companies, including Globalvia, represented in SEOPAN (Association of Construction Companies and Infrastructure Concessionaires) and the National Police Corps signed a collaboration agreement for the automated circulation of their vehicles equipped with VIA-T by electronic toll roads.
A milestone that supposes a more efficient operation in the transit of these vehicles on the highways, thus achieving greater efficiency in their work to guarantee citizen security.
Julián Núñez, president of SEOPAN, and Francisco Pardo Piqueras, General Director of the National Police, were in charge of signing the agreement in an act in which representatives of the signing concessionaires were present. Among them, Globalvia through the figure of Fernando Vallejo, IT, Innovation and Transformation Director of the Company.
Fernando took advantage of this act to learn about the cybersecurity strategy that the National Police Corps carries out in our country.
To make this agreement a reality, the Economic and Technical Division of the General Directorate of Police, through the Automotive Area, will provide and install VIA-T devices in the vehicles that are determined the, valid for transit on all highways managed by the Concessionaires included in this agreement. Thus, vehicles will pass through the toll roads (both entry and exit) without the need to stop or wait queues, which is a great time saving, a key issue for the development of police activity.
This initiative is in line with the agreement that the Concessionaires, through SEOPAN, and the company Bip&Drive signed four years ago to facilitate the access to electronic toll of people with some type of disability, in which the ONCE Foundation also collaborated.
