On June 15, we had the great luck of attending a very special event organized by the A LA PAR Foundation, the Graduation of the VI Promotion of Higher Education CAMPVS (2018-2021). This program seeks continuity in the training of young people with intellectual disabilities once they have completed their regulated or compulsory education, all with the aim of helping them in their socio-labor insertion.
As a reflection of the great commitment that Globalvia has had with A LA PAR Foundation throughout the years and which we have been accompanying since the beginning of this beautiful project, Belén Castro, our Human Resources, Communication and CSR Director, has had the pleasure of being the Godmother of Honor of this Promotion of students.
After completing a three-year training program, also overcoming a particularly difficult year due to the Covid-19 crisis, and with great dedication and commitment, about 30 young people take another step towards their employability, specializing in Hospitality and Tourism, Administration and Management or Commerce and Marketing sectors.
This very important day, in which all sanitary measures have been respected to guarantee the safety of all, has counted with the radio journalist Juan Carlos Colmenarejo as presenter and with the attendance of representatives of the entities that with their collaboration and support make this project possible: Montemadrid Foundation, LVHM, AON, Mahou San Miguel Foundation, BNP Paribas, Samsung, Leroy Merlin, Conunidad de Madrid, Indra, Accenture, Telefónica Foundation, and the Cardenal Cisneros Higher Education Center, among others.
After the intervention of the tutors and two students, the moment came to award the recent graduates with their diplomas. They also received a seedbed with the phrase of Khalil Gibran: “Only the seed that breaks its shell is capable of daring the adventure of life”, a phrase that reflects the brave trajectory of these young people, when leaving their comfort zone and bond with new people, contexts, and challenges.
To put an end to this event, Belén Castro, our Human Resources, Communication and CSR Director, wanted to thank the new graduates, make them a promise, and ask them for a favor during her speech as Godmother of Honor.
First, to thank them for showing that everything is possible with effort, perseverance, and willpower. To thank them for the example that they give every day to those who live trapped inside a t-shirt where it says “It cannot be”, in short, thanks for teaching us that everything that we allow ourselves to dream, can become real.
Secondly, Belén promised them to always be at their disposal for everything they need and in everything in which, from Globalvia, we can provide our support.
And finally, Belén wanted to ask them for a favor: never give up. Because the world is always for the brave ones, and we cannot allow ourselves to lose faith in ourselves to achieve our purposes and dreams. Belén has also remarked that, from this moment on, these young people go out into the world with new abilities and prepared to give companies the best of themselves in their jobs and that this is a true treasure for any company.
We are very happy to be able to help these young people to follow their dreams and to achieve their professional challenges. We congratulate the recent graduates for this important milestone and wish them all the best in this new phase!
